10 days, 20 performances, 18 countries, Master Classes, courses and international seminar on the issue of poverty. This is some of what Tromsø Dialog has to offer during the festival and congress period, the 14th to the 21th of July 2011.
The Norwegian Theater Council and HATS are in collaboration going to organize one of the world’s oldest and most important festivals, the AITA/IATA international theater festival. The festival was held for the first time in 1957, and in 2011, Tromsø has been chosen as the festival host. From the 14th to the 24th of July, Tromsø will be filled by theater troups from all over the world. They come to play theater for each other, for the inhabitants of Tromsø, and for everyone else thinking it is a wonderful idea to go to Tromsø for the summer vacation!
All performances will be played twice, and the ticket fees are manageable even for the lightest vacation wallet. There will be performances of all genres. The uniqueness of going to see theater performances at international festivals is the opportunity to see performances with such different languages, and such variation in artistic and cultural expression. As the festival host, Tromsø city is able to offer all of this in an exciting, intimate atmosphere brimming with life. If you want an amazing experience, come to Tromsø the 14th to the 24th of July 2011!
We offer festival packages with and without accommodation, performances and courses!
The 2011 theme is DIALOGUE and our aim are to promote peace through the medium of theatre. The name of the festival is hence Tromsø DIALOG 2011.
