Dreams, dreams, dreams of a child.
How exciting it was in our childhood to imagine that we are not the little ones anymore but the grownups. How exciting it was to put our feet into the shoes of our parents. Or to hide ourselves in the wardrobe, or to listen to the silence inside and the noises from outside.
Now we have our old wardrobe full of strange odours onstage. We can find hidden treasures and memories of good old times. Surprisingly angels come out and take their daily exercise. And then a small girl becomes a bride. How many brides and grooms, how different they are! And look, a circus rider comes out next, and plays the violin!
We are the eternal little ones – and we have to learn how to fight for our place in the web of the human condition. That child is still alive and dreams inside us somewhere.
We have to learn how to use the Apple of Desire, how to play with it, how to share it and how to confront temptation. Let’s hope we can avoid being eaten up by our dreams...
