When a celebrity babe shows off her tits she reinforces the sexualisation of women's bodies. When a feminist is sunbathing topless she wants to erase gender roles. A girl laughing and talking out loud wants to get the guys' attention. A feminist raises her voice to take equal space as men. Women's struggle is often looked at from one point of view, but the more feminism is discussed the more its complexity is recognised. We show this by a performance in several distinct parts gathered together. They have been built up separately but they all fit under the banner of feminism, in one way or another. It is about a movement that can take shape in a thousand ways.
We Are Here is 30 intense minutes on feminist division and fellowship. We will give you dance, theater, cheerleading and a song. It is fun but not for the fun of it.
The 2011 theme is DIALOGUE and our aim are to promote peace through the medium of theatre. The name of the festival is hence Tromsø DIALOG 2011.
We aim to initiate dialouges across borders and to keep the dialogue open: Together for theatre - together for peace!
