The Norwegian Theater Council and HATS are in cooperation organizing one of the world's oldest and most important festivals; the world festival for amateur theater 14th - 24th of July 2011.

The world festival was held for the first time in 1957. In 2011, Tromsø has been chosen to be the hosting city. In connection with the festival, the 30th world congress for the International Amateur Theater Association (IATA/AITA) is also being organized, and we need volunteers to help us with the execution of the events - is one of them is you?

We expect that representatives from almost 60 different countries are coming to Tromsø in 2011. The festival can offer 20 shows from 18 different countries, coming from all over the world, in addition to workshops with internationally renowned workshop lecturers within the world of theater.

As one of our volunteers, you will be at the very center of this amateur theater event - and your contribution will be vital in order for us together to be able to host this amazing happening. We need help with a variety of tasks, and we are in need of 150-200 people who can be there for the whole festival period. The festival and the congress operate using English, French and Spanish, and it is a requirement that you master at least one of these. We need people for the festival period itself, in addition to a few volunteers before and after the event.

We need many volunteers for the period 10th - 25th of July. You can work as little or much as you are able to. Even if you have only a few evenings to spare, we would greatly appreciate any time you can give us. Please indicate how much you will be able to work in the "other information" box found in the registration form.

There will be hold a training seminar for all the volunteers before the festival takes place. This will be on the 8th of July. There will of course also be a volunteer's party!
