Tromsø Dialog 2011 and Norsk teaterråd has received heartwarming greetings from theatre friends in connection with the events in Oslo and on Utøya:
From participating theatre groups at Tromsø Dialog 2011:
Dear friends,
We, the participants at the Tromsø Dialog, decided to make this small
video as a token of appreciation for all you've done for us, and to
share our sorrow and support with the norwegian people in this
difficult time. You are free to share it at will. Note, that the
participants from Russia, Denmark, Latvia and Croatia had already left
when this idea came up, but they are there in spirit.
Best regards,
Guðmundur

From AITA/IATAs French speaking secretary Jacques Lemaire:
Dear Norwegian friends
After the very nice time we spent in the city gate of the midnight sun, seeing a lot of stars all along the never-ending day, Marie-Judith and I travelled to other rainy and windy areas and met the sun in the smiles of the young participants of the European encounter with theme Kaleidoscope, with subtitle “over the rainbow” which was very appropriate. How to make positive the bad weather? These young people were merging sun and rain to create a rainbow ! And the wind carried out their hopes for a better world !
This commons work of more than 120 youngsters was at the last stage of production of the final performance when suddenly the “rumor” arrived, carrying a huge amount of horrors : hell had emerged in Oslo and even worse on a small island and I asked myself how is it possible that the same country could produce so nice persons as you, spending all your energy towards cultural and social inclusion of everyone and an horrible monster killing nearly one hundred of innocent victims to promote exclusion and his detestation of strangers.
I have a deep sympathy for the Norwegian people in these dreadful circumstances, but I better want to keep the positive image of the festival associated to the name of Norway.
Please accept my condolences. I hope that you had no relative in the streets of Oslo or on this bloody island.
But essentially accept my big thanks for the care you took of us and of all the participating groups and delegates to Congress. You are really great guys.
You can indeed circulate my message to all the people involved in running the festival and congress along the 10 days it lasted.
Meilleures salutations
Best regards
Jacques Lemaire
